Advanced Allergy Therapeutics
For the people whose testing came back clean and who were told the only thing to do was avoid it. That is a real gap, and this is aimed squarely at it.

South Louisiana is hard on sensitive people. Mold, humidity, an oak pollen season that arrives early and lingers, and a food culture that is not exactly hypoallergenic. Plenty of people here have simply accepted feeling low-grade unwell for months of the year.
Advanced Allergy Therapeutics (AAT) works on the body’s stress response to a trigger, rather than on the trigger itself. It is non-invasive, involves no needles and no medication, and it is one of the more surprising things we offer, in the sense that people often do not expect it to do much.
The gap this is actually aimed at
There are two different things people call an allergy, and conventional care handles them very differently.
A true allergy involves the immune system, produces IgE antibodies, shows up on testing, and has real treatment options: avoidance, medication, immunotherapy, and in serious cases an auto-injector. That is well-established medicine and we would not dream of getting in the way of it.
A sensitivity is the other one. Same miserable symptoms, no immune involvement, and nothing on the test. Most people who come to us for this have already had the panel and been told it is clean.
Here is the honest part: for sensitivities, conventional medicine has almost nothing to offer except avoidance. Not because anyone is failing at their job, but because there is no established treatment to offer. So people are told to keep a food diary and live a smaller life. Fewer restaurants, fewer houses with cats, a shorter list of things they can eat without paying for it later.
That is the gap. AAT is aimed at it, and there is not much else aimed at it at all.
What actually happens in a session
AAT combines acupressure-style stimulation along the spine with controlled exposure to the substance in question. The premise is that the problem is not really the substance, it is the pattern of the body’s response to it, so that response pattern is what gets addressed.
No skin pricks. No injections. No needles of any kind. No medication from us, and nothing you are already taking gets changed.
Most people find it uneventful, which is not a criticism. It is a quiet twenty minutes.
What people bring to us
- Seasonal reactions to pollen, mold and dust, which South Louisiana serves generously
- Food sensitivities, especially the kind producing bloating, fog or fatigue rather than a dramatic reaction
- Pet and environmental triggers
- Skin flare-ups that track with something in the diet or the environment
- Chemical and fragrance sensitivity, the supermarket-aisle kind
Being straight about the evidence
We have been honest elsewhere on this site about what research does and does not exist, so we are not going to change tune here.
AAT does not have the published trial base that its supporters sometimes imply. You will find “clinically proven” on plenty of practitioner websites. What sits behind that phrase is largely the developer’s own clinical data, not independent randomised trials, and the related acupressure literature is small and mixed. We are not going to dress that up.
What we will say is why we still offer it:
- The downside is genuinely low. Nothing invasive, nothing pharmacological, no interaction with anything you take, nothing to stop or start.
- You find out quickly. Most cases that respond do so within the first few sessions. This is not a year-long commitment before anybody knows anything, and we would tell you to stop rather than keep selling you sessions that are not working.
- The alternative on offer is avoidance. For someone who has already been told there is nothing to be done, a gentle approach with a short answer window is a reasonable thing to try.
Judge it on whether it works for you, not on our enthusiasm. That is the fairest deal we can offer on something the literature has not settled.
What we will not tell you
We will not tell you this cures an allergy. We will not tell you to stop carrying an epinephrine auto-injector, and we will not tell you to change any medication.
If you have a diagnosed anaphylactic allergy, that is a medical condition and it stays with your physician. AAT is not emergency care, it is not a substitute for it, and nothing here changes what you should do if you have a serious reaction. Keep your allergist. Keep your auto-injector on you.
Why it usually comes with testing
Sensitivity symptoms rarely arrive alone. In most cases there is something else running underneath, which is why AAT here is almost always paired with Nutrition Response Testing®. A body that is already carrying a heavy chemical load or a post-viral burden reacts to more things, more easily. Address that, and the reactivity often settles on its own.
Booking
AAT is offered by Dr. Bob at our Mandeville office, 221 St. Ann Dr. #2, Monday to Thursday, 8am to 5pm. New patients start with a first visit, $75 for a full hour. Existing patients, call (985) 624-9888.
Not sure this is the right starting point?
That is what a first visit is for. Sixty minutes, a full health history, an HRV test and a complete Nutrition Response Testing® analysis, so the plan is built on what your body is actually asking for rather than a guess.
