Chiropractor in Mandeville
Forty years of practice on the Northshore, and an approach that treats the adjustment as one part of the picture rather than the whole of it.

Dr. Bob Thomson has been adjusting patients in this area for over forty years. Long enough to have treated three generations of some families, and long enough to have formed a fairly firm opinion about what chiropractic on its own can and cannot do.
The honest version
An adjustment restores motion to a joint that has stopped moving properly. When a vertebra is not moving the way it should, the nervous system running through that segment is affected, and so is everything downstream of it. Restoring the motion lets the body get on with its own repair.
That is real, and for a lot of people it is the thing that finally works after everything else did not.
What it is not is a solution to everything. If someone comes in with recurring low back pain and the pain keeps coming back after every adjustment, the adjustment is not the missing piece. Something is holding the pattern in place, and it is usually not structural. That is why chiropractic here sits alongside Nutrition Response Testing® rather than standing on its own.
What people come in for
- Low back pain and sciatica
- Neck pain, including the kind that comes with a desk and a phone
- Headaches that keep returning
- Shoulder, hip and joint restriction
- Posture and mobility that has quietly declined for years
- Pregnancy-related discomfort
- Maintenance, once things are working, because keeping it that way is cheaper than fixing it again
What a visit is like
Dr. Bob will want to know the history before he touches anything. When it started, what you were doing, what makes it worse, what you have already tried and how that went. Then an examination, then an adjustment if an adjustment is what is called for.
Sometimes it is not. Sometimes the useful thing that day is different, and he will tell you so.
The part most offices skip
If you are in three times a week and still hurting, something structural is being asked to fix a problem that is not structural. Inflammation driven by what you are eating will keep pulling things back out. So will an old scar that changes how you move without you noticing. So will chronic stress that never lets the muscles down.
This is where the practice differs from a high-volume adjustment mill: we would rather find the reason it keeps coming back than see you three times a week forever.
