Lymphatic Drainage Massage in Mandeville
Very light, very slow, and almost nothing like the deep tissue work most people picture when they hear the word massage.
New patients book online. If you are already a patient, please call the office so we can put you with the right practitioner.
The first thing people say afterwards is usually some version of “that was much gentler than I expected”.
Lymphatic drainage is not deep tissue work. The pressure is light, the rhythm is slow and repetitive, and it is directed along the pathways the lymphatic system actually runs. Pressing harder does not help. It closes the vessels you are trying to encourage.
Why the lymphatic system gets overlooked
Your circulatory system has a pump. The lymphatic system does not. It moves fluid, immune cells and cellular waste through several hundred lymph nodes on nothing but muscle movement, breathing and the contraction of the vessel walls themselves.
Which means it is unusually dependent on how you live. Sit still for most of the day, breathe shallowly, carry chronic tension, and lymph flow slows. That shows up as puffiness, heaviness in the limbs, a sense of being generally congested, and a slower bounce-back from illness.
What the work is used for
- Swelling and fluid retention, particularly in the legs and ankles
- Recovery after surgery, once cleared by the surgeon
- Post-illness sluggishness, the run-down feeling that outlasts the infection
- Puffiness through the face, hands and lower limbs
- Supporting the body’s own immune function as part of a broader plan
- Deep relaxation, because the rhythm of it is quite hypnotic
Being straight about scope
Lymphatic drainage supports the body’s own fluid movement. It does not treat disease and it is not a detox in the way the word gets used in advertising.
If you have diagnosed lymphedema, congestive heart failure, an active infection, a blood clot or a history of one, or you are in active cancer treatment, this needs your physician’s sign-off first. Some of those are outright contraindications and some are simply a conversation to have with your doctor rather than with us. We will ask, and we would rather you told us.
What a session is like
Comfortable clothing or draped as you prefer. The practitioner works slowly along the neck, torso and limbs in a specific order, because lymph has to have somewhere to drain into before you move fluid toward it. Most people find it deeply relaxing and a fair number fall asleep.
Drink water afterwards and do not schedule anything demanding straight after if you can help it.
Where it fits
It pairs particularly well with the infrared sauna, where the heat does some of the vasodilation work first, and it is often the thing that finally shifts stubborn puffiness for people already working with us on Nutrition Response Testing®.

Not sure this is the right starting point?
That is what a first visit is for. Sixty minutes, a full health history, an HRV test and a complete Nutrition Response Testing® analysis, so the plan is built on what your body is actually asking for rather than a guess.
